Why is the driver tip not included in the order data?

Tips for drivers are not transmitted to the POS system by Lieferando, Wolt, Uber Eats, Foodora, or almost any other platform. This is intentional and correct behavior.
Why are driver tips not sent?
Tips given online by customers for platform-employed drivers are paid directly to the couriers.
Due to fiscal, legal, and accounting regulations:
- These tips must not enter the restaurant's POS system.
- They must not be fiscalized by the restaurant.
- They must not be included in the restaurant's accounting records, as the restaurant does not receive or manage these funds.
Therefore, the platforms filter out driver tips before sending the order payload to MERGEPORT and your POS system.
Is this an integration issue?
No. This is not a technical problem or a bug in the integration. The platforms simply do not transmit driver tip data for platform couriers. MERGEPORT only processes and forwards the financial values that are relevant to your restaurant's billing and fiscal compliance.
