What is MERGEPORT?

Learn how MERGEPORT acts as a central interface connecting your POS system to supported ordering platforms and automating your workflows.

Getting started
Last reviewed

MERGEPORT is a central interface connecting POS systems to ordering platforms — including Lieferando, Wolt, Uber Eats, Foodora, and self-ordering solutions.

Instead of developing a separate integration for each ordering platform, MERGEPORT allows you to connect supported platforms to your POS system through a single technical connection.

💡 How It Works

MERGEPORT translates and transmits order data between connected systems. Available functions depend on the platform and POS system:

  1. Order Transmission: Incoming orders from online platforms are automatically captured in your POS system — eliminating manual entry.
  2. Status Updates: Order status updates (e.g., "order accepted") are transmitted directly from the POS back to the ordering platform.
  3. Delivery Times: Delivery time adjustments made in the POS are automatically updated on the platform.
  4. Menu Synchronization: Optional synchronization of menu and item data between the POS and platforms (where supported by the platform).

🎯 Target Audiences and Benefits

MERGEPORT creates a standardized connection that benefits all participants:

For Restaurants, Cafés & Delivery Services

  • Time Savings: No more manual order entry from separate tablets. The kitchen can start preparation immediately.
  • Error Reduction: Automatic transmission reduces mistakes that can occur when manually entering items or prices.
  • Centralized Management: All connected ordering platforms are managed centrally via the MERGEPORT Controller.
  • Better Reporting: Transmitted order data is available for the reports and analysis supported by your POS system.

For POS Providers & Developers

  • Single Integration: One connection to MERGEPORT links supported ordering platforms to the POS and reduces the work needed for separate platform integrations.
  • Central Maintenance: MERGEPORT maintains connections to platform APIs centrally. Any POS-side changes depend on the functions used.
  • Customer Retention: Offering automated, multi-platform integrations provides a highly valuable feature that increases customer satisfaction.

For Platform Operators

  • Simple Onboarding: Standardized access to a large network of POS systems.

🔌 Compatibility & Setup

To see if your POS system is already compatible, please search our Integration Explorer. There you will find a current overview of all supported POS systems and ordering platforms.

Setting up your connection takes only a few steps:

  1. Confirm your POS compatibility in the Integration Explorer.
  2. Create an account in the MERGEPORT Controller and add your restaurant location.
  3. Select the desired ordering platforms in the configuration and connect them using your credentials (e.g., Lieferando customer number or Wolt credentials).
  4. Complete the required platform approvals and check the agreed order flow through to the POS with a first order.
