Yes. This is possible if Lieferando enables the Hybrid Mode for the restaurant. In this mode, the Lieferando tablet and the POS integration remain active at the same time.
What is the Hybrid Mode?
By default, once the POS integration is active, Lieferando orders are sent directly to the POS and the tablet is no longer required for order handling.
The Hybrid Mode is an alternative setup in the Lieferando backend. It changes the workflow as follows:
- Incoming orders first appear on the Lieferando tablet.
- The restaurant accepts the order on the tablet as usual.
- Only after tablet acceptance is the order forwarded to MERGEPORT and then to the POS system.
This allows restaurants to keep their familiar tablet workflow while still benefiting from direct POS injection.
When is the Hybrid Mode useful?
Hybrid Mode is especially helpful if a restaurant:
- Wants to continue adjusting preparation or delivery times manually on the Lieferando tablet.
- Prefers to keep the familiar tablet-based acceptance workflow.
- Wants a gradual transition toward full POS automation.
How is the Hybrid Mode activated?
The Hybrid Mode can be activated only by Lieferando Support. MERGEPORT cannot enable or change this setting.
When Lieferando activates Hybrid Mode:
- The Lieferando tablet remains active.
- The POS integration remains active.
- Orders are forwarded to the POS after tablet acceptance.
To request activation, contact Lieferando directly:
- Call the Lieferando merchant hotline.
- Or email partner@lieferando.de.
Important Notes
- Hybrid Mode affects only the Lieferando order flow.
- The POS integration remains technically active at all times.
- With Hybrid Mode enabled, orders will not appear in the POS until they are accepted on the tablet.
- Without Hybrid Mode, all orders are delivered directly to the POS as the standard flow.
- Tablet Removal: Whether you can completely remove or turn off your Lieferando tablet depends on your configuration. If you use the standard direct-to-POS integration, the tablet is no longer required for receiving orders. However, if you are using Hybrid Mode, the tablet must remain active to accept incoming orders.
