Can I continue using the Lieferando tablet with the POS integration? (Hybrid Mode)

Yes. Whether the Lieferando tablet or Orderpad is required for acceptance or kept as a backup depends on the agreed order flow. Before changing it, confirm with Lieferando which mode is configured for your restaurant.

This guide focuses on JET Connect as the intended standard Lieferando integration. Coordinate migration of an existing connection with your integration partner.

JET Connect: order flow and acceptance

With JET Connect, Lieferando can forward orders directly to the POS or show them on the Orderpad first. There is no single default for every restaurant.

• Direct to POS: Forwarding does not wait for manual acceptance on the Orderpad. An idle Orderpad can remain available as a backup.
• Orderpad first / Hybrid Mode: The order is accepted on the Orderpad according to its configured manual or automatic acceptance before it is forwarded to MERGEPORT and the POS. The device must remain operational for this flow.

Moving to JET Connect does not automatically change an existing manual or hybrid flow. Lieferando controls customer-facing automatic or manual acceptance.

The MERGEPORT setting autoAccept or posAccept controls the technical acknowledgement of POS transmission. It does not replace Lieferando's order-acceptance setting or the agreed role of the Orderpad.

Can I switch off or remove the Orderpad?

Do not assume that the POS connection makes the device unnecessary. For JET Connect, the Orderpad remains part of the operational setup; in a direct flow it can serve as a backup. With manual Orderpad acceptance, the team must actively confirm orders there; automatic acceptance follows the JET configuration.

Confirm the device's role with Lieferando. Transmission issues may appear in the Orderpad or Live Orders. A fixed delay before backup handling is not guaranteed.

Existing older connections only, until migration

The following guidance applies only while your restaurant has not yet migrated to JET Connect.

For older Lieferando connections, Hybrid Mode enabled by Lieferando also forwards orders after tablet acceptance. It is useful for restaurants that want to keep the familiar acceptance workflow or manage times on the tablet.

The previous modes and device requirements must not be applied to JET Connect as a general rule. JET Connect currently does not support delivery or pickup time updates through the MERGEPORT API.

How is the flow changed?

1. Agree the required flow with Lieferando: direct forwarding or Orderpad acceptance.
2. Have Lieferando confirm the settings. MERGEPORT cannot activate Lieferando Hybrid Mode itself.
3. Use a test order to check where the order appears, who accepts it, and whether it reaches the POS correctly.
4. Make sure the team knows how to handle error messages in the Orderpad or Live Orders.
